HMS TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a candidate to complete data mining and analysis for the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Office of Resolution Management (ORM) IT Support Services & Technology Development. The mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Resolution Management (ORM) is to promote a healthy working environment through prevention, resolution, and processing of workplace disputes, including complaints of discrimination. ORM has resolution experts who promote and deliver alternative dispute resolution techniques for all workplace disputes, including alleged Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) discrimination. In cases where resolution cannot be reached informally, ORM processes complaints of EEO discrimination in a timely and proficient manner.


ORM provides IT infrastructure support services to all of its employees, nationwide, from its central office in Washington, DC. ORM operates and maintains server systems in both Louis Stokes Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and the Capital Regional Readiness Center (CRRC) in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Additionally, ORM maintains an Avaya Communications Server Call Center.


HMS is seeking a Customer Service Engineer (CSE) to provide IT support services and technology development to support the promotion of alternative dispute resolution techniques for workplace disputes. The CSE is able to quickly respond to end user requests for assistance when existing manuals and scripted responses are not sufficient to meet user needs. The CSE must be able to interact with customers and diagnose problems and lead customers through the necessary steps to correct their issues. The qualified candidate should have experience working on Information Technology (IT)-related projects.

. Requirements:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Experience using SSIS or building/managing data pipelines
  • Experience in writing Stored Procedures, Triggers and Functions
  • General knowledge and Understanding of database concepts to perform technology research and evaluations
  • Experience supporting and developing business process analytics and system reviews
  • Provide recommendations of technical alternatives to include identifying, and reporting on trends, new techniques, and new developments in the areas of business intelligence, customer resource management, storage media, eLearning, web development, telecommunications, and secure paperless processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience using Python
  • Experienced in developing/managing python web applications (i.e.: Django), tools, processes and resources
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience using SQL
  • Experience in managing acquisition, preparation and documentation of data
  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field of discipline
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Experience in using NumPy, SciKit-Learn, Pandas in Python a plus
  • Experience using PowerBI, Spotfire or Tableau (preferably PowerBI) a plus
  • VA experience a plus
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
