Job Function & Key Responsibilities:


As a business development associate, you are responsible for providing support to the internal / external sales team and responsibilities mainly revolve around prospecting advisors within multiple territories. This role serves as a crucial part of the sales process as growing our client base is paramount to reaching our sales goals. You will work closely with the investment management sales team and relationship managers to support a high volume of requests in support of the New York Life / Mainstay Investment solutions (mutual funds, EFT’s private investments). This role provides an excellent entry point for individuals looking for a sales career in Investment/Asset management.


As a business development associate, you will be exposed to on-the-job training within a fast-paced sales environment with the follow responsibilities:

  • Ability to consistently have high volume of proactive phone activity
  • Able to thrive in a high-energy environment
  • Self starter / Self motivated


Required Qualifications:

  • Desire to pursue a role in sales (client facing).
  • Build and expand relationships with predetermined opportunistic list of prospects and clients.
  • Fluid relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interaction with various levels of business and industry members in a professional manner.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required within 3 months of start date.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and superior organization skills.
  • Possess strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email/calendars).
  • Interest and passion around capital markets, asset management and investment solutions.
  • Strategic thinker and strong work ethic.
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking is a huge plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required – specifically Finance/Business major preferred.
